The first villager\u2019s of this barangay we\u2019re Jumalon\u2019s\nand Pabinguit\u2019s clan. <\/font>\n<\/p>\n<p lang=\"en-US\" class=\"western\" style=\"margin-bottom: 0cm; line-height: 150%\">\n<br>\n\n<\/p>\n<p lang=\"en-US\" class=\"western\" align=\"justify\" style=\"margin-bottom: 0cm; line-height: 150%\">\n <font face=\"Calibri Light, serif\">The Barangay Candanay Sur was a\nlegendary name coined together from two words, CANG -ANAY\u201d which\nwas given by the Spaniards. Once, the barangay was a haven of small\nwhite wood devouring insects called \u201cTERMITES\u201d which the natives\ncalled \u201cANAY\u201d. Almost all of the houses were made of wooden\nmaterials and bamboos and were seriously infested by the said insects\nthat caused the people to name the place \u201cCANG-ANAY\u201d. As\nSpaniards arrived, they had difficulty in pronouncing the word \u201cCARD\u201d\nso the sound \u201cNG\u201d had change to \u201cD\u201d, thus bringing out the\nname \u201cCANDANAY SUR\u201d and the northern part as Candanay Norte it\nlies between barangay Pangi and Candanay Norte. <\/font><font face=\"Calibri Light, serif\">It\nis two (2) kilometers away from the town. <\/font><font face=\"Times New Roman, serif\"><font size=\"3\" style=\"font-size: 12pt\"><span lang=\"en-PH\"><br>\n<\/span><\/font><\/font><font face=\"Calibri Light, serif\"><br>\nBack\nthen<\/font><font face=\"Calibri Light, serif\">, 1989-1994 former\nBarangay Captain Tristan Bation established to divide the barangay\nCandanay Sur into 3 puroks instead of seven: Purok I-\nHighway-Paradise,  Purok II-Everlasting, Purok III-Highway-Star\nmanaged by the Sangguniang Barangay members until to this date.<\/font><\/p>\n\n<style type=\"text\/css\">p { margin-bottom: 0.25cm; direction: ltr; line-height: 115%; text-align: left; orphans: 2; widows: 2; background: transparent }p.western { so-language: en-US }<\/style>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>HISTORY OF BARANGAY CANDANAY SUR 1.
